So how does one achieve this clarity? That’s not an easy question to answer, but I can all but guarantee that she has most if not all these following traits.

1. They create and pursue focused goals.

Goal setting is a process for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality.

The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You’ll also quickly spot the distractions that can, so easily, lead you astray. First consider what you want to achieve, and then commit to it.

Set specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound goals that motivate you. Write them down to make them feel tangible. Then plan the steps you must take to realize your goal, and cross off each one as you work through them.


2. They take decisive and immediate action.

Why does decisive action and quick decision-making lead to success? Because it’s the opposite of procrastination. If you agonize over every single decision, you will not only ever get anything done but you will probably second guess ever decision that you miraculously do make. These negative thoughts can leave you feeling overwhelmed and feeling like a failure.

Making just one decision and moving on can give you a sense of empowerment that only leads to feeling confident and successful! Keep it up and keep moving forward.


3. They focus on being productive, not being busy.

Busy people have great work ethics, which is why they are always busy. The problem is not that they don’t work hard, but that they don’t work smart. They work linearly without considering if there are better ways to do things.

On the other hand, productive people focus on being effective first, then efficient. They are constantly looking for better ways to achieve the same outcome.



4. They make logical, informed decisions.

Rational decision making looks at objective data, logic, and hard core numbers instead of just doing what you think everyone else is doing to help solve a problem or achieve a goal. It’s a step-by-step model that helps you identify a problem, pick a solution between multiple alternatives, and find an answer.


5. They avoid the trap of trying to make things perfect.

Sometimes done is better than perfect. I see this all too much with my clients. They get caught up in making the wording perfect or finding the just the right image and waste days, weeks or even months. Sometimes, just putting “pen to paper” and hitting publish is the best way to go. You can always teak it later.


6. They work outside of their comfort zone.

Sometimes people remain in their comfort zone because it prevents them from having to engage in activities they find scary or intimidating. f you feel uncomfortable speaking in front of a room full of people, it may be helpful to practice speaking to a small group of people; maybe a few friends or colleges. Just like anything, the more you practice to easy it will become.


7. They keep things simple.

Running your own business is a complicated affair; making it successful can be even more complicated.  If you don’t have a plan to be productive and keep focused, the details that you are responsible for can quickly overwhelm you.  In fact, one of the biggest failings of new entrepreneurs is to get so caught up in an avalanche of unimportant details that more important priorities get left unattended on the table.

Learn to become a minimalist. Pare everything down to the bare necessities and focus only on tasks that will more you forward in your business.



8. They focus on making small, continuous improvements.

This is a case where set it and forget it does not apply. You should be continuously reviewing and improving your products and services. Make a date with yourself on your calendar once a month to review your website, sales funnels and social media to make sure that everything is working properly and that everything is update.


9. They maintain a positive attitude as they learn from mistakes.

One of my favorite quotes is “I win or I learn, but I never lose”. If you keep this simple mantra in mind, making a mistake won’t seem so intimidating, but just another experience in your arsenal.

10. They spend time with motivational people.

We tend to absorb the actions of those we spend a lot of time with. Have you ever noticed it’s hard to be motivated when everyone around you is goofing off? Plus motivated people tend to have a positive aurora about them. Positive people are also genuine, more so because they don’t only care about themselves, but they care about you as well. It is important to them, as much as it is important to yourself, that you are feeling good about yourself or that your goals are met.
